Green Energy Manufacturing at Bristol Works!

What do we mean by “Green” and “Renewable” energy products and services and why Bristol Works?

Vermont has always had a “green” reputation but more recently that characterization has gone beyond the recreational benefits of the Green Mountains and extended into the environmental benefits of renewable energy products and systems.

As it turns out, Bristol was once home to entrepreneur David Blittersdorf and his little start-up company, NRG Systems, until they moved to nearby Hinesburg. NRG is a global leader in the development and manufacture of wind power measuring systems. Now a Bristol Works!’s partner, David is running his new enterprise, AllEarth Renewables, in Williston, VT, where his company designs and manufacturers “AllSun” photovoltaic trackers for grid-connected residential and commercial electricity production.

The Bristol Works! partners are working to bring the next green energy entrepreneurs to Bristol to take advantage of our “clean” manufacturing spaces, while availing themselves of myriad tax credits and alternative energy subsidies at the State and Federal levels.

Enterprises like NRG and AllEarth Renewables are leading the way to an energy future that incrementally reduces our dependence on non-renewable energy like petroleum and coal while helping to slow the effects of global warming.

Bristol Works! is betting that the very location of the Bristol Works! site—in a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood just a couple of blocks from our vibrant downtown—will be just the kind of campus a green energy company will want to be part of. We also anticipate that the Bristol Works! model of a business complex focused on smart growth, energy efficiency, and sustainability will be very appealing to green energy manufacturing companies. In fact, we will soon have some All Sun trackers producing energy for some of the very businesses we hope to attract.
